Water consumption: UK v Turkana, Africa

In the UK, we take water for granted – we use lots of clean, piped water without thinking about it. Could you make do with 8.7 litres of water a day…dirty and contaminated water that you have to walk several miles for?

We created the following infographic to make people think about the amount of water they consume and raise awareness of people in Turkana, Kenya – one of the regions hardest hit by drought. Two in three people here don’t have access to clean water.

Fortunately there are solutions. The energy of the sun can be used to provide safe, clean water for the people of Turkana using solar power technology.
